Demon Dreams

Demon dreams

And rainbow coloured screams

Haunt my nights

And plague my days

Taunting, coaxing, needing

I fight, implore and even pray

To a silent, impartial foe

Forever holding sway

Demon dreams

And blood red screams

I sacrifice my peace

To an emotional death spiral 

A current of thought 

Though try as I might

Cannot be fought

Demon dreams

And pitch black screams

That bottomless pit 

In the eye of my mind

Dares meditate on the unfathomable loss

Boundless love holds

Like the sword of damocles

Over my soul
